Revere Copper

Sustainability is the world’s latest buzzword.

We’ve been buzzing about it for years.

As one of the planet’s copper leaders with a 200+ year history, Revere Copper knows the value of sustainability as well as anyone.

In fact, copper is among the world’s most sustainable resources, with 100% recyclability. Today, copper is at the forefront of renewable energy initiatives and is playing a key role in ongoing electrification efforts.

Beyond the well-known green advantages of copper itself, Revere is committed to sustainable business practices as well. With every equipment upgrade, every water processing step and every phase of energy consumption, we strive to protect the environmment in our local communities and around the world.

As stated in our long-established Sustainability & Safety Pledge, Revere continuously engages in best environmental practices across all steps in the manufacturing process.

Buzzwords come and go. Revere’s commitment to a sustainable future has been part of our corporate profile for decades. And that will never change.

When we return water to rivers, it’s often cleaner than when we took it out.

Revere Copper is dedicated to clean air, earth and water. One perfect example is our water treatment systems, which comply with, or exceed, all state regulations. Using our thorough water processing steps, Revere often returns water to the natural environment with lower copper levels than when it arrived at our mills through municipal water intake.

Understanding the A B Cs of Scope 1 2 3 Emissions

Revere is proud of its carbon footprint and is committed to greenhouse gas (GHG) emission standards to ensure a healthy planet for generations to come. Toward that end, we are mindful of the three emission scopes – globally accepted as the standard GHG accounting scale, as established by the Greenhouse Gas Protocol. At Revere, we have routinely put these principles into practice for many years. Below is an overview of what each scope entails.

Clean energy factors into our process, day after day.

At Revere, we take energy use very seriously. Turning out millions of pounds of copper sheet, strip, plate and bar each year calls for a great deal of energy, so our choices are critical. By focusing on clean, renewable electrical energy sources, we generate massive energy savings and environmental protections every day.

In virtually every step of our manufacturing process, we strive for the most efficient energy source, which often means electricity. Cleaner and more renewable than natural gas, electricity is becoming increasingly availability from local and regional suppliers, which also reduces its overall carbon impact. Revere will continue to seek out earth-friendly energy options.
